We collect the following information when you use Little Trail Friends:

• Account information: Your name and email address, provided when you register or sign in with Google or Apple.
• Payment information: Subscriptions purchased on the web are billed through Stripe; subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are billed through Apple's App Store. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe and Apple each process payment data under their own privacy policies.
• Location information (app): With your permission, the iOS app uses your device's precise location to find family-friendly trails near you. It is used to return nearby results and is not stored to your account. You can decline location access and search by zip code instead.
• Notification tokens (app): If you enable notifications in the iOS app, we store a device push token to send you daily adventure alerts. It is removed when you sign out.
• Usage data: Pages visited, stories read, and general interaction with the service, used to improve the experience.
• Device and browser information: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and referring URLs.

• To create and manage your account.
• To process subscription payments and send billing-related communications.
• To send transactional emails such as account confirmations and subscription updates.
• To improve the service and understand how families use it.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Little Trail Friends — both the website and the iOS app — is designed for parents and guardians to use with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. Accounts must be created by adults (18+), and all personal data we collect belongs to the account holder — the parent or guardian.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at hello@littletrailfriends.com and we will promptly delete it.

We use the following third-party services to operate Little Trail Friends:

• Google OAuth: For optional sign-in. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Google.
• Sign in with Apple: For optional sign-in on iOS. Apple's privacy policy applies to data processed by Apple.
• Stripe: For payment processing on the web. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
• Apple: Processes in-app subscription payments and delivers push notifications on iOS. Apple's privacy policy applies.
• Google Cloud / Firebase Firestore: Stores your account and story progress. Operated by Google under its privacy policy.
• Vercel: Hosts the website and its backend services. Vercel's privacy policy applies.
• Contentful: For storing and delivering story content.
• Amazon Web Services (SES): For sending transactional emails.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads (website only): On the website we use Google Analytics to understand site usage and a Google Ads tag to measure ad conversions. These run only on the website — not in the iOS app.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial record-keeping purposes.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of any marketing communications.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure credential storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
