Our Story

I'm Ayaka, a mom of two little explorers and an outdoor educator from California. I've seen how kids light up when learning moves outside. A simple walk changed once I added a story or a game. Curiosity lasted and the day felt new again.
One of the biggest reasons I began creating Little Trail Friends was simple: I wanted to hike a little longer without the constant "Are we there yet?" or requests for another snack break. Stories gave our hikes rhythm and purpose and suddenly, the journey itself became the adventure. That spark grew into Little Trail Friends, a place to share those small discoveries with families everywhere — on local trails, or right in the backyard.
Our Mission
Little Trail Friends exists to help families slow down and reconnect with nature through simple, meaningful storytelling. During this early launch, our daily sneak peaks are offered as a first step toward building a full story and adventure collection that helps children feel at home in the natural world, whether they're on a nearby trail or any outdoor space. As we grow, a small monthly contribution as a member will help sustain the project, with proceeds donated to nonprofits protecting the wild places that inspire each tale.
What's Coming Next
Soon, our first full collection will let you browse stories and outdoor adventures based on where you're going, how much time you have, or the kind of experience you want to nurture with your children. Families will be able to become members to unlock the full archive and support the continued creation of new stories rooted in care for the land.
